The Ludwig Classic Maple 22”MOD kit has long been the choice of rock drummers due to the full bodied tone and amazing sustain. This kit is in as new condition and barely used, it comes in the new colour-way for 2021 which Ludwig named Digital Black Sparkle. Similar in design to the Black Oyster Pearl that has been a staple for more than 50years, this new look will match any musical style and setting, blending yesteryear and today beautifully.
Configuration & Build
The configuration of this kit is the Ludwig Classic Maple MOD four piece, featuring a much loved two-up, two-down configuration, showcasing a hefty 22” bass drum and stand mounted toms with VibraBand mounts (included).
With over 100 years of drum-making experience these high-quality shells represent state of the art custom manufacturing and are made from high-grade North American Maple. Each 6mm thick shell is hand built with a solid three-layer core in a horizontal/vertical/horizontal grain pattern with an inner and outer layer each made up of two panels. To increase the stability, all Ludwig shells are made using the company’s Radio Frequency Shell Technology or R.F.S.T. This unique bonding system uses a special adhesive curing process to give each shell a consistent bond across the surface which enhances tone and strength and helps create the unique Ludwig sound.
This kit has been expertly designed by the Ludwig team and is complemented with the iconic accent of the Monroe Gold Cast Monroe Badges. Each shell features a hand-sanded bearing edge that is cut to an angle of 45 degrees to expand the shell’s tuning range and maximise the sustain.
