A Stunning Drum Workshop Configuration in Black Diamond
Another one from our favourite drum company from the U.S.A.! Here we present a very cool looking and very cleverly specified four-piece DW kit. This kit has been designed and built with the long-standing Black Diamond DW Finish Ply custom shop, lacquer finish and is complemented by beautiful chrome plated hardware.
This amazing kit is in excellent condition having been cherished and well cared for like so many of the kits you will find at Classic and Custom – our rating is A** (see how we rate our kits). Recently renewed REMO heads add to the overall package with this kit. REMO heads being those specified by DW.
Configuration
The configuration of this kit makes it a bit special; three of the four shells fall into the DW FAST-TOM category and the three toms are stand mounted. The Bass Drum is a big sounding 18 x 22” providing plenty of ‘boom’ whilst utilising the stand mounted tom set up means the overall footprint layout can be compact and tidy, perfect for gigging in tight spaces whilst not compromising impact.
The FAST in DW’s trademarked FAST-TOM brand stands for Fundamentally Accurate Sized Toms and represents DW’s history and passionate research into the optimum size for sharp punch and an open sound. We know drummers like to tune these low for a particular sound and wow they are pure and crisp.
The shells are made from DW’s pure range of North American Hard Rock Maple and are of course batch serial number matching across the set, being date stamped December 2007. As DW tells us, Maple is the most popular wood for drum making for good reason. Maple is a hardwood that produces maximum resonance, projection and attack. Combined with reinforcement hoops, it can produce a more focused sound that is well suited to both live and studio applications, this kit hits the mark and would suit any of our rock n’ roll drumming clientele!
