An instrument that needs no introduction…we are privileged to present this mint condition David Gilmour Stratocaster Relic from the Fender Custom Shop. This is a super collectable recreation of the legendary “black strat” that became the most expensive guitar to ever sell at auction when it was sold at Christie’s in New York for US$3,975,000! This unique and precious guitar boasts extensive features that replicate the guitar integral to the Floyd albums including The Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.
Constructed from Alder and with an all Maple neck crafted to the unique “C” profile matched from the 1983 neck, it is complemented by authentic vintage and aged parts. It is powered by a David Gilmour Custom pickup configuration that includes at the bridge a Seymour Duncan SSL-5 Single-Coil, Custom Shop Single Coil at the middle and a Custom Shop Fat ‘50s Single Coil at the neck. Other custom features that were designed by David along with his engineer for this model include a vintage synchronised tremolo with custom bevelled tremolo block and shortened tremolo arm.
The finish is superb work from the custom shop, having studied extensively, the original the relic work is a masterpiece in aging and work to reflect years of work and play, there’s checking across the body with marks and wear matching the original as well as to the neck, the overall effect is brilliant.
It comes with the most impressive selection of case candy you will ever find all in a special edition David Gilmour Fender Custom Shop Case. The Gilmour pack is in perfect condition just as the guitar and case itself and retained in their cellophane seal wrapping, it includes Custom Shop certificate signed by the director, custom leather strap, Audio guitar cable, The Black Strat Book and David Gilmour CD and various other bits and bobs, all original and as it left the factory in the USA.

This Custom Shop version of the famous Black Strat was one of the most highly anticipated guitars to be released by Fender and they are prized possessions for players and collectors alike. The finish and set-up of this model is exquisite and it comes with the most celebratory case candy pack you could imagine. Getting close to something that played a part in such epic albums as The Dark Side of the Moon feel s somehow momentous as you pick this thing up, it is an absolute masterpiece and will be loved by fans of the Floyd, Gilmour and high-quality Custom Shop pieces. This comes in as NEW condition, even has the packing box!
