LIMITED EDITION 1 of 75 - A very rare Torino Red, Pete Townshend Signature Guitar from the Fender Custom Shop and produced in very limited numbers, with unique features and in MINT condition
An out and out collectors’ piece from CnC! Here we present one of only 75 Pete Townshend Signatures Stratocasters in first class condition and in glorious Torino Red.
This unique and precious guitar features three Lace Sensor Gold single pickups, popular in the 80’s and based on classic 50’s single coil chime, but with the removal of the 60 Hz hum, which is the background noise you get from single coil and that’s prone to humming and feedback.
Then there’s the Fishman Powerbridge which is built into the two-post bridge. This is controlled by the extra white knob located behind the bridge and allowing you to blend in an acoustic sound. Fender wanted to create the guitar to help Townshend switch up between an acoustic sound and an electric vibe within one guitar and so added the Fishman Powerbridge tremelo bridge to do exactly this.
The addition of three Lace Sensor Gold single-coil pickups mentioned earlier aids the noise free performance and the signal is boosted by an onboard Fender preamp to drive tube amp into a rich tone. It also features the popular soft “V” shaped neck for comfort and control as well as a thin skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish that creates more resonance.
It comes with all case candy, certificate and shop floor traveller and its tweed tolex and velvet deluxe case, as well as a special Pete Townshend collector’s pack, all original and as it left the factory in the USA.

What we think:-
This is an absolute must for any fan of The Who and Pete Townshend, it’s largely based on the Fender Eric Clapton that apparently Pete liked a lot, with the addition of the Fishman Powerbridge for control of the acoustic signal. We’re not sure this will ever be played much but the innovative electronics and set-up make this a great guitar and something unique.
