Number 255 of just 500, this historic Les Paul standard Custom Shop reissue celebrates Gibson 50th anniversary year of the model and is the rare version two model finished in a gorgeous light iced tea burst. Coming from the Custom Shop it’s an absolute masterclass in craft and care, featuring a dark rosewood fretboard on a slimmer version 1960’s neck with a solid mahogany back and a carved figured maple top.

It’s stunning in the iced tea burst and the attention to detail is second to none, note the period correct Gibson logo that has been silkscreened in gold, further features include Burstbucker pickups, Tuno-o-matic bridge and vintage style tuners and gold top hats.

With very little fret wear, having been kept in a collection, it comes with all case candy, including Gibson Custom Shop Certificate, pickguard, packing checklist and bits and bobs - all original and as it left the factory in the USA.

What we think:-

So…with 1960 being a transitional year for Gibson the reissue presented a challenge that they overcome by producing different versions. The early 1960 model was basically a 1959 model so version 1 of the release was pretty much just that, but for version 2 and 3 the neck got smaller and the colour options included our Iced Tea Burst example which is simply beautiful. These are rarer and with a higher demand, it sounds sweet and crisp with a tight finish. This is a player’s guitar and one that will never fail to impress.
